New Toys

I bought myself an iPod, iPod camera connector and Canon S450. Together they're just barely bigger than my S200. The new camera has a huge display and is much simpler to configure than the old one. It also has a fancy clock mode with blocks for numbers that rotate as it counts.

It also has some nifty features I'll probably never use, like color accent (turn all colors except one to black and white) and color swapping (swap this color for that one).

The camera connector is spiffy too. It has an iPod dock connector on one end and a USB port on the other and a USB host controller in between. It copies photos off the camera onto the iPod in the standard DCIM directories. iPhoto thinks the iPod is a camera and imports the photos with no problems. (But you must tell iTunes to put the iPod in disk mode.)
