(no subject)

Despite minor setbacks, the first day of my vacation has been wonderful. I left home around 9:30 and arrived in Buckley around 10:30. But when I got there, the van wasn't. My dad forgot and drove it off to Rogers High School. Fortunately, it was along the way, so I drove down and picked it up, exchanging my car for the van.

On my way South I got a call from my dad, one of the windshield wipers was not firmly attached to the arm, and I needed to replace it. Sure enough I hit some rain before I found a place to stop and I nearly lost it completely. Fortunately at that time I happened to be about a mile from a rest stop, so I reattached it with a twist-tie from a bread bag and needle-nosed pliers. Tomorrow I'll be able to pick up a new wiper from Schucks.

At dinner I was amused by women who were well-trained by their ill-behaved children, and a very nice but overworked waitress.
