Vacation Day One

I left Buckley a little after noon and picked up some snacks and fuel at the local Arco. Stopped at the Gee Creek Safety Rest Area for a stretch, then continued through Portland towards Eugene. Traffic out of Portland was slow due to a bunch of Beavers fans heading south with me.

I pulled off at Eugene and drove into Springfield and discovered the visitor's center was closed, so I don't have a cool Oregon map yet. I then checked into the Sutton Motel and walked down to Bill Fitch Park where they talk about the town's start as a mill town.

I then ate at the Spring Garden Restaurant which was ok.
